The Peter Oliver Memorial Cricket Match 2013

Andrew Powell's cricket stand-off against the Maleny Maulers is now into its fourth year.     This is definitely not your average cricket game - for one thing, the players take pride in out-doing the best pyjama fashion-on-the-field look - all good fun and all for a good cause!

All proceeds from donations made before and on the day going to Lung FoundationAustralia.      Maleny's Dr Peter Oliver dedicated himself to furthering research into the killer disease after being diagnosed himself - because like so many sufferers, he was a non smoker.       This was the message that Peter found first-hand was not getting out there - Maleny's Charity Cricket Match is all about trying to change that.

Locals Matthew Howard, Charles Hodgson and Greg Williams get into the action, and pollies Mal Brough and Steve Dickson have signed up, so plenty of sledging opportunities for spectators and players alike!

Once more Trevor and Maree Sommer will be generously donating $50.00 per 6 scored - with a barbeque and bar operating by hosts MDSRC - just bring a chair and the family and take some time out to enjoy a great afternoon of social cricket whilst knowing you are helping the Lung Foundation of Australia, who will be there on the day.

Where:        Aub Cork Oval Maleny Showgrounds
When:        Saturday 5th October 12 noon
